Top 40 UK Drupal companies for contribution :  a 5 month comparison

3 January 2017

In August, 5 months ago, I compiled a list of the top 40 UK Drupal companies for contribution in this Medium article. Since then many things have changed, and I was intrigued to see what differences there were to companies in the ranking.

The Top 40 is taken from the Drupal Marketplace.

The results below come from the data I compiled from the marketplace and can be found in full in this spreadsheet.

Key results

These 30 companies stayed in the Top 40 over the 5 month period.

Acquia, Agile Collective, Annertech, Appnovation, Capgemini, Code Enigma, Computer Minds, CTI Digital, Cybage, Deeson, Drupal Jedi, Emergya, Exove, Clearwater Development, FFW, Intellix, IXIS, Lemberg, Lullabot, Microserve, Mirium Agency, More Onion, NDP, Open Development, Pro People, System Seed, Torchbox, Wunder Group, Ymbra, Zoocha.

Companies that were present in August, but not in January

Companies present in January, but not in August

Access, Agiledrop, Cignex Datamatics , Enden Digital, Five Mile, iKOS, Marzee Labs, Reinblau, Sift Digital, Tatva Soft, Tieto.

Congratulations to these notable achievements

  1. Code Enigma : jumped up 20 places from #40 to #20.
  2. Pro People : jumped up 18 places from #32 to #14.
  3. NDP : jumped up 14 places from #31 to #17.

Mergers & acquisitions

I wasn’t expecting to see companies that have been merged into larger ones, especially when these mergers/acquisitions took place a while back. I guess it shows that some contributions take a while on the issue queue to be credited as some issues can take years to be resolved.

Pro People is now part of FFW (also on this list), iKOS is now part of Inviqa (not yet on this list), Curve become a part of CTI Digital quite recently which explains why they are no longer in the list this time.
